selected works for Museums Churches and Cathedrals

This gallery features images of some of the major commissions I have undertaken for a variety of patrons over the last few years. These include a triptych in the style of Simone Martini painted as research into trecento Italian tempera techniques for The Barber Institute of Fine Arts in Birmingham. A large trecento Italian style panel painting of The Madonna and Child with Saints and Angels for St Mary Redcliffe Church in Bristol. A mural of ten scenes from the life of St Benedict Biscop for Bede's World Museum in Jarrow. A new Shrine to St Ethelbert in Hereford Cathedral featuring twelve scenes from the saints life and martyrdom. Both the Bede's World mural and the Hereford Cathedral shrine paintings are done in a style of iconography derived from careful study of twelfth century English manuscript illuminations.
The final three images are from BBC TV's 'Rolf on Art' where I was part of a group from the Society of Tempera Painters who worked with Rolf Harris on camera to recreate Botticelli's Birth of Venus in a week.
